Soil and Soul Ceramics
Care guide
Every ceramic piece is shaped and finished by hand and fired in Maria's own kiln, so it carries small marks of the process. A little care keeps it beautiful for years.
Cleaning
Hand wash with warm water, mild soap and a soft cloth. Abrasive sponges can dull the glaze.
Temperature
Avoid sudden changes of temperature — for example, moving a piece from a cold windowsill straight into hot water.
Flowers and water
Not sure whether a piece suits fresh flowers or dried stems? Ask us before you buy. Empty and dry vases between uses.
Handling
Rims and edges can chip if knocked. Lift pieces by the body, not by the rim.
Food and drink
Our pieces are sold as decorative unless a listing clearly says otherwise. We don't make food-safety claims.
Small variations
Uneven rims, pooled glaze and tiny pinholes are part of handmade work, not defects. Studio Study pieces may show these marks more openly, and each listing says so.
