A one-of-a-kind vase thrown from wild clay I dug and sieved by hand near my home in Portugal — from raw earth to finished vessel.
Working with wild, self-harvested clay is slow and unpredictable. It has to be collected, cleaned, and tested before it ever reaches the wheel, and that process is exactly what gives this little vase its character.
Made in the early chapter of my ceramics journey, it came through two kiln firings honestly. The clay was sieved more coarsely than a refined studio body, and the glaze was applied generously — so you'll find natural glaze runs and small marks across the surface. I've chosen to show these rather than hide them, and the price reflects it.
If you love genuinely handmade objects with a story in the material itself, this one carries it from the ground up.

Care
Each piece is shaped and finished by hand, so small variations are part of its character. Hand-wash with a soft cloth and avoid sudden temperature changes. Handle with care: edges can chip.
How it's made
Shaped by hand — thrown on the wheel or built by hand, one piece at a time. Finished by hand — glazed, painted or left raw. Fired in Maria's own kiln.
